Camp Independence: Pysanki Egg Making

Learn the art of making pysanky – Ukrainian eggs, in this fun class! Pysanki Egg Making is the process of creating beautiful art on eggs through a process of dying. During this class you will use a special “pen” with a reservoir for beeswax to create intricate designs.  A candle is used to melt the wax into the kistka reservoir and then dripped from the kistka reservoir to draw designs and patterns across an egg before dipping the egg into a color. In this way, the color below the wax is preserved, allowing you to create colorful designs. Attendees will have an array of colors to choose from for their eggs.
